Degrassi Season 1

Degrassi: the next Generation was premiered on 10-14-2001 and the opening episode from series was entitled ‘Mother and Child Reunion (1)’. As the season opens, Emma is getting ready to attend Degrassi High school along with her friends. Summer is over and Emma looks too much concerned with her online friend Jordan. It’s Emma’s mom’s high school reunion and when she is her at high school reunion, she decides to meet her online friend in some restaurant. During the season, Ashley decides to compete for class president and Toby decides to have JT against her. So, family politics was one of the various plot developments during season. Toby doesn’t want his parents to go together at school so makes a plan so only one can go. Season 1 deals with various teenage issues as such date rape, sexuality, teenage pregnancy etc and season finale ‘Jagged Little Pill’ was aired on 3-3-2002. Season climaxes as it’s the last day of grade 8. Ashley is one again ‘Most Likely to Succeed’. Ashley wants to celebrate so invites her gang. Something may happen which will tarnish Ashley’s image forever.
