Degrassi Season 8

Season 8 of Degrassi: The Next Generation tv show was premiered on October 10, 2008 with the season opener ‘Uptown Girl (1)’. The season is currently on air and there will be twenty two episodes during its run on CTV Network. Season depicts the events of the 2007-08 school year. Major changes are made to the star cast of the series. 13 new names are added to the ensemble cast list whereas fourteen members either got their status dropped from the regular ones to the recurring ones or left the show. The main focus would be on the new students of Degrassi Community School, with storylines of the ones who have joined high school and university. The production of the season started in May 2008 in Ontario and the ending episodes of season are filmed in Los Angeles, California. It’s a production of Epitome Pictures in an association with CTV. Season premiere received approximately 398,000 viewers facing a big fall in the ratings as compared to season seven premiere with 585,000.
